by CoinWeek

In this CoinWeek exclusive video, taped at the 2011 ANA National Money Show in Sacramento, California, former American Numismatic Association Executive Director Larry Shepherd presides over the opening ceremonies.

The American Numismatic Association’s 2011 Sacramento National Money Show featured historic and rare coins and paper money from around the world and was host to an impressive signature auction conducted by Heritage Auction Galleries of Dallas, Texas.

Attendees were treated with a host of educational exhibits put together by ANA members. In addition, rarities from the Edward C. Rochette Money Museum, including the Idler/Bebee Class III specimen 1804 Draped Bust silver dollar and the McDermott / Bebee specimen 1913 Liberty Head nickel were on display for all to see at the ANA Museum Showcase.

The National Money Show is one of two coin conventions conducted each year by the American Numismatic Association. It is the smaller of the two shows. The larger show, the World’s Fair of Money, is held in the summer.
