  1. I have been involved as a buyer only in the 90% coin market. I have never seen conditions so tight as to availability. Most coin is in “strong” hands, and they aren’t selling because they see the price is wrong. Some years ago I told a major dealer a day would come when coin was tougher to obtain than mining shares. He denied it, but we are certainly witnessing it. Not that shares are “bad,” but that coin is “more substantial/secure” as to worth. Shares can be diluted—and will be. The ’64 and earlier coin supply shrinks every time coin is melted with .999 to make jewelry, because everyone does not just order casting shot/grain. Historic coin silver is processed into bullion, never to return. Shrinking pool = eventually more price pressure.
