By CoinWeek News Staff ….
On Monday, June 27, the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) will hold a three-hour public meeting at Gaylord Hall on the campus of Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Agenda items include the future of the U.S. Mint’s palladium coin program, electing jurors for the Breast Cancer Awareness Commemorative Coin design competition, and the review of candidate designs for the five 2018 America the Beautiful Quarters program issues.

The CCAC will also discuss designs for the President Obama Presidential Medals. Presidential medals are struck to commemorate each term of office that a president serves, so designs for two medals representing Obama’s first (2009-2012) and second terms (2013-2016) are to be reviewed at Monday’s meeting. The designs were previously reviewed by the Commission of Fine Arts (CFA) on June 16, who recommend the combination of obverse one and reverse one for term one and obverse one/reverse two for term two.
