Since 2000, artist Emily Damstra has worked as a freelance science illustrator, working in a variety of media on hundreds of science-related subjects. She studied Drawing and Illustration at Alma College and graduated with a Masters in Fine Arts in Science Illustration from the University of Michigan.
As a participant in the United States Mint’s Artistic Infusion Program, Damstra has designed several modern collector coins and commemoratives – including the new Type 2 reverse for the American Silver Eagle (2021-present).
